We know the value that AAPD members put on networking and educational opportunities we provide through our Annual Session and programs throughout the year. To build on that value, we are excited to enter into this new phase of member communication by providing AAPD members an environment to connect, engage and share critical information and best practices in real time in the new online Shared Interests Groups (SIG) community called Little Teeth Chat.

The AAPD sponsors lobbying and advocacy with legislative and governmental administrative bodies on issues applicable to pediatric dentistry and the improvement of children’s oral health care. Input can be provided through the AAPD’s Council on Government Affairs.

AAPD Foundation supports community-based initiatives that provide access to care for all children.
Dental Home Day – Each Year's Dental Home Day Volunteers bring smiles to children in our Annual Session host city. All children served get funded for a dental home.

The term “Fellow” in a professional association refers to a person who has distinguished him/herself, either by publications or contributions to the profession. Starting in 2013, Fellow status will no longer be automatically granted to board-certified pediatric dentists. We are pleased to introduce the new Fellow program that will offer our members an opportunity to further distinguish themselves in the profession. The new program not only stresses education but also involvement in organized dentistry and community.

This online Speakers Bureau connects state, districts and dental institutions with the leading experts in the world of pediatric dentistry. You must be an active member of the AAPD in order to be considered for the Speakers Bureau. To submit, please follow the link below and complete all tasks required in the submission process.

AAPD has an awesome and powerful networking tool in our online community Little Teeth Chat. One of the features is the full membership online directory. It is only for members. Members have more control over what information they can share. Under your "Profile" in "My Account" are the privacy settings where you can choose what information to share including email and mobile phone numbers. You can send direct messages to any colleague from the directory feature. You can even create your own contact list and share more information with trusted colleagues.

The AAPD media spokesperson program keeps the specialty of pediatric dentistry in full view of the media and the public. The AAPD welcomes member suggestions on enhancing communications with health professionals and the public.

PDT (Pediatric Dentistry Today) magazine is the bi-monthly member publication that highlights legislative and regulatory information, membership news and AAPD meetings, as well as information on current and future events within the specialty and organization. Pediatric Dentistry Today has a full website to archive and promote articles designed to encourage sharing among pediatric dental office staff and patients and their families.
