Description

The Pediatric Dental Residency Program at Geisinger Medical Center is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The program is dedicated to the preparation of board-certified pediatric dentists who will become leaders in providing pediatric dental care and in educating themselves, their colleagues and the patients and families they serve. We are committed to providing state-of-the-art training with a dynamic curriculum that coincides with the changing health care environment and meets the needs of the dentists-in-training for the 21st century.

Curriculum

The Pediatric Dental Residency program offers a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on the acquisition of clinical skills and objectives of the six general competencies:

Program Stipend and Tuition

First Year Stipend: $60,955
Second Year Stipend: $63,467

Facilities

Geisinger Medical Center has all medical and dental services integrated with health system processes and infrastructure support including the electronic health record, digital radiology, and operating rooms in both the hospital and ambulatory surgical center. This includes a vibrant clinical practice providing routine, preventive, and complex dental care for patients ranging in age from birth through late teens.

Admission Requirements

Match positions (2 per year): 

  1. D.D.S. or D.M.D. from an ADA accredited dental school in the US
  2. Application through PASS and participation in MATCH 
  3. Personal Interview (by special invitation) 
  4. Applicants must pass national board exam prior to rank list submission date.
  5. Please note: Geisinger employees, including residents, must comply with all vaccine mandates. 
  6. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent U.S. Residents
