Externship Application Steps

The externship is only for observation; you will not be having direct contact with the patient. You can only do a maximum of 3 days.

1. Email Ms. Reardon, the Residency Program Coordinator with several tentative dates in which you would like to do the externship, Kelly.Reardon@nicklaushealth.org.
2. Complete the attached application and supplemental documentation and submit to Ms. Kelly Reardon. Confirm that all the documentation required has been submitted, as well as the application.
3. Once confirmed that all the documentation required has been submitted, Ms. Reardon will send you an email confirming the scheduled dates for the Externship.

Prepare for your Externship

1. Upon arrival to the dental clinic (3601 NW 107th Ave, Doral, FL 33178), ask for Ms. Reardon (Residency Coordinator).
2. On the day of the externship wear scrubs and your ID provided upon arrival. Please arrive by 8:00AM.

Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry will host virtual externships/open houses on Monday, August 14 and Tuesday, August 15 with 10 spots available during each of the four planned virtual externship/open house sessions. Located on Long Island in New York, Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine’s Mobile Dental Clinic services Suffolk County children who may have barriers in access to care. A new state-of-the-art Mobile Dental Clinic will be coming online in Fall 2023 to continue the efforts of the Outreach Team.
