MEET DR. KAY WILSON

Dr. Kay Wilson is a native of Michigan.  She graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree of biology in 1982.  She received her doctorate of dental surgery degree from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1986.  Upon graduation, Dr. Wilson attended Mott Children’s Health Center in Flint, Michigan where she completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Wilson entered private practice in 1988 working in a large group pediatric practice in a suburb of Detroit.  Dr. Wilson became a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 1993.  She completed subspecialty training in the dental management of cleft lip and palate in June of 1993, as well.

Dr. Wilson has been practicing in Ann Arbor since 1994, when she joined the practice of Dr. Robert Meyers.  In 1995, Dr. Wilson became the sole practitioner in this pediatric dental practice.  Dr. Wilson is on staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Michigan Dental Association and the Washtenaw District Dental Society. 

Dr. Wilson is involved in organized dentistry.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of Pediatric Dentists and is on the Dental Advisory Board for the Washtenaw Community College Dental Assisting Program.  She has served on the Peer Review Committee and has been an examiner for the Pediatric Dental State Board Examination.

While away from work, Dr. Wilson spends time reading, gardening at her Ann Arbor home, playing violin with her daughter, and taking her to soccer events.  Dr. Wilson, her husband, Dan, and her daughter, Maeven, enjoy volunteering and are regular servers at St. Andrew’s Breakfast Program.  She and her family have traveled to Nicaragua to visit health care facilities and coffee cooperatives.  They hope to do another service trip soon.
