News 8 Austin revealed the status of Texas oral health care as “falling through the cracks.” In a recent 2008 report, the Texas Dental Association offers recommendations on how to strengthen oral health care programs for state residents, especially for the poor, elderly, and children..
Dr. Kevin J. Donly (Texas) expressed the importance of two key AAPD recommendations. He said, “If we could get children on prevention and establish this dental home as recommended by age one, perhaps we could get good prevention protocol on these children and prevent them from ever having oral pain.”
