Membership Privileges

Active, Life

  1. Vote on all issues brought before the General Assembly.
  2. Hold office and serve on councils/committees.
  3. Attend the AAPD Annual Session.
  4. Receive copes of all general membership communications and publications.

International, Associate

  1. Serve as consultants to councils/committee, but not vote or hold office.
  2. Attend the AAPD Annual Session.
  3. Receive copies of all general membership communications and publications.

Affiliate

  1. Elect an Affiliate representative to serve as a full voting member of the AAPD Board of Trustees.
  2. Attend the Annual Session of the AAPD.
  3. Serve on councils/committees, but not vote in the General Assembly or hold office in the AAPD.
  4. Receive copies of all general membership communications and publications.
  5. Attend and participate in all AAPD continuing education opportunities.

Note: Affiliate members may not use the AAPD name, membership status or logo, or imply special expertise or training in pediatric dentistry.

Allied

  1. Attend the annual session of the Academy.
  2. Receive copies of all general membership communication and publications

Note: Allied members may not use the Academy name membership status or logo.

Friends of AAPD

  1. Attend the annual session of the Academy.
  2. Receive copies of all general membership communication and publications.

Note: Friends of Pediatric Dentistry may not use the Academy name membership status of logo.

Predoctoral Student, Postdoctoral Student

  1. Attend the Annual Session of the AAPD at no charge.
  2. Receive copies of all general membership communications and publications.
  3. Attend and participate in all AAPD continuing education opportunities.

Retired

  1. Serve as a consultant to council and committees, but not vote or hold office.
  2. Attend the annual session of the Academy.
  3. Receive copies of general membership communications, may receive journals or newsletter at a fee per item basis.

Note: In the event that a retired member resumes, practice, teaching or administration it is their responsibility to notify Headquarters’ office for reinstatement of former membership category.
