Risk of Bias Assessment in Systematic Reviews

The risk of bias assessment (sometimes called "quality assessment" or "critical appraisal") helps to establish transparency of evidence synthesis results and findings. A risk of bias assessment is often performed for each study to be included in your review. The risk of bias is assessed frequently by evaluating the study design and the conduct of the study has been affected by bias or not. For more information on types of biases in systematic review, please read the handout of Risk of Bias Assessment here.
