Investing In The Future

In order to improve child oral health for years to come, HSHC will help develop the next generation of dental researchers, and invest in their careers, with the HSHCAAPD Future Dental Researcher Fellowship. This Fellowship will support the careers of third-year investigators focusing their research on the study of dental care programs targeting underserved and limited access child populations.

The pilot initiative would provide one qualified investigator with up to $75,000 per year for three years. The Fellow will receive financial support from HSHC and mentoring from his/her sponsoring institution. 90% of the total grant amount is for the Fellow's use in fulfillment of his/her research duties; the remaining 10% will help offset any administrative costs for the participating institution.

Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children will launch this program in the spring of 2011.
