Up to three (3) pediatric dentistry postdoctoral students/residents are selected each year to receive a yearlong research fellowship. The Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children Committee on Scientific Affairs selects the recipients on a competitive basis from eligible submissions. Recipients receive complimentary Annual Session registration for themselves and one guest, travel expense reimbursement, a cash award and are honored at the Annual Session. 3M ESPE generously supports this program.
The 2009-10 recipients will present their research at the 64th Annual Session in New York, N.Y.

Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children is accepting applications for the Samuel Harris Fellowship. Pediatric dental residents and individuals in their first five years post-residency are eligible to apply. The Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children and Paul S. Casamassimo created this opportunity
for individuals to participate in governance and advocacy activities, AAPD and HSHC functions, and attend internal organizational and inter-professional meetings. Pediatric dental residents and individuals in their first five years post-residency are eligible to apply for the Samuel Harris Fellowship. Part of this fellowship will be completed at the AAPD headquarters in Chicago, Ill., and a deliverable project is required at the end of the Fellowship. A cash stipend and payment for travel to Chicago and other meeting locations is provided. HSHC and the selected applicant/program director will agree upon exact fellowship dates.
