Why Give to Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children?

Because children's oral health is important, so is your support. There are many ways you can contribute to Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children to invest in the future of the specialty of pediatric dentistry and the oral health care of children. Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children offers you several options to make a tax-deductible gift. To contribute, you may print and complete a Contribution Form or click the button below to donate online.

Donate now to receive these benefits:

  1. Acknowledgment in donor listings and Annual Report.
  2. Presentation of a ribbon to wear at the Annual Session.
  3. Entry to select donors-only events.
  4. Discounted admission (20% off) to the Annual Session CE Course.
  5. Complimentary admission to the Annual Session CE Course for donors at the Leader's Circle level and above.
  6. Charitable tax deduction.
  7. Personal satisfaction in supporting a worthy cause.

Donor Categories

All donors receive ribbons for their Annual Session badges denoting their contribution level.
  1. $50 Students Currently enrolled students and active pediatric dentists who graduated within the last two years are eligible for this category.
  2. $150 Donor
  3. $250 Sustaining (and above) Contributors receive two tickets to the Foundation Donor and Auction Reception at the Annual Session.
  4. $500 Patron
  5. $1,000 Benefactor

Pledge Categories

All pledge category members receive two tickets to the Donor and Auction Reception at the Annual Session and a certificate and pin denoting their pledge.
  1. $2,500 John C. Brauer Pledge ($500 annually for five years)
  2. $10,000 Leaders' Circle ($2,000 annually for five years) In addition to the above benefits, one complimentary ticket to the CE Course for the life of the pledge (must preregister to receive the benefit), a $300 value,
  3. $25,000 President's Circle ($5,000 annually for five years) In addition to the pledge category benefits, members will have the opportunity to serve on the President's Circle Committee, receive an invitation to an exclusive Donors' Circle event held during the Annual Session and will be presented a recognition pin. No further membership payments are required once the entire President's Circle pledge is fulfilled. President's Circle pledges and above attend the annual CE Course at no charge for life.
  4. $100,000 Legacy Circle

Heritage Circle

The Heritage Circle is designed to recognize individuals who have chosen to support Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children through a planned gift. Benefits of the Heritage Circle include:
  1. Acknowledgment in donor listings and Annual Report.
  2. Lifetime Heritage Circle recognition.
  3. Invitations to exclusive events held during the AAPD Annual Session.
  4. Presentation of a recognition pin and a ribbon to wear at the Annual Session.

Gifts of Securities

Appreciated securities are an excellent way to give to the Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children. Through a precise process, you may transfer shares to the Foundation. This may allow you to bypass capital gains tax and increase your charitable deduction. It is important to follow the process exactly, so please download this instruction form, contact us, and your financial professional, for further information. Shares of C, S and limited liability corporations can also be donated through a trust at a considerable tax advantage. Finally, depreciated securities can be sold and the proceeds donated. The donor is entitled to a tax deduction for both the capital loss and a charitable deduction for the donated proceeds.

Memorial or Honorary Contributions ($25 minimum contribution)

The Foundation offers a way to remember friends and loved ones through a Memorial Contribution or recognize a birthday, anniversary or major accomplishment through an Honorarium. With each memorial or "gift in honor" contribution received, an acknowledgement letter is sent to the appropriate person named. The amount given is never indicated in the letter, unless otherwise instructed. You will also receive an acknowledgement letter for your files.

Auction
