The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) is partnering with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in providing a free 90-minute webinar "Compliance for the Medicaid Dental Professional" on December 12. No registration is required. Simply call in the number below, enter the meeting ID number and click the link to receive the video portion (slide presentation) of the webinar. Completion of a short survey will be required to submit and earn the CE.
Federal regulations require State Medicaid programs to ensure services are accurate and supported by proper documentation. During this presentation, Dr. Lynn Mouden, chief dental officer for the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (DHHS), and David Himmelreich, a licensed attorney and senior subject matter expert in the area of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse for Strategic Health Solutions, LLC, will provide a comprehensive overview of Medicaid program integrity, common compliance vulnerabilities, and benefits derived from developing or improving a compliance program. Specifically, the presentation will clarify what documentation of medical necessity means for dental service providers. In addition, the presentation will suggest ways in which written policies, staff training, dental software, and self-audits should assist you in achieving compliance with the requirements of the Medicaid program, while meeting your own expectations for providing quality dental care.
There will be time at the end of the presentation for questions and answers.
