5k Fun Run

Give back to the Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children Foundation by participating in this fun run/walk on Friday morning! Based on the events during the 2013 Boston Marathon, the final location of the race is still being determined. The AAPD has secured permits through the proper channels to host this important event in the Back Bay or another location, pending approval. We will host this race and remember: Boston Strong!

Exhibit Hall
Meet & Greet Lounge

Booths 601 – 613

New dentists and Residents are encouraged to join seasoned professional dentists in the Meet and Greet Mentor Lounge during the 2014 Annual Session! Mentors and mentees will meet in a lounge area on the exhibit floor to Explore the Exhibits together. In addition to visiting booths and discussing how to get the most out of the Annual Session experience, they have the chance to ask questions about their mentor’s practice and career.

We want to help you continue the conversation among the seasoned members and those newer to practicing; use the show floor as an opportunity to discuss pediatric dental topics while they meet with various dental companies providing goods and services. Enjoy a cool drink, meet new acquaintances in the lounge while waiting to meet your mentor or mentee.

Interested in being a mentor or having one? Great! Contact Meeting Services Senior Director, Tonya Almond, at talmond@aapd.org.

New Pediatric Dentist Happy Hour: Jillian’s

(Ticketed Event)
Located across from Fenway Park, Jillian’s is in the heart of nightlife on Lansdowne Street. The area offers hip, upscale entertainment. On the third level of the complex resides hot spot "Lucky Strike Lanes." This area is more of a bowling lounge than a bowling alley. Here guests will find wooden floors and huge velvety couches, Art Deco lighting and an enormous wall of televisions behind the bar broadcasting all the important pro sports games.

An amazing DJ inspires guests to strut their stuff keeping you entertained through the night. For those guests looking for a "quieter" location, the V.I.P. Room and the Polo Room are exclusive to AAPD which include pool tables, Wii and X-box as well as bars.

Spend some time in the Little League Area designed for kids but also the kid at heart.

Located behind the bleachers, the open floor plan of this concourse allows you to mix and mingle as you take in the sights and sounds of the ballpark. The open-air environment allows you to immerse into the spirit that abounds at Fenway and the rockin’ band!

We also have access to the bleacher seats to relax and refresh as they sip refreshments and take in the ambiance of the field. Staged throughout the bleachers are vaious caricature artists allowing you the opportunity to take a piece of the event home with them.

Boston Ballpark Midway. A classic style Fan Zone with the Yawkey Midway that consists of carnival booths with baseball style games like: Break-A-Plate, Baseball Toss, Tin Can Alley, and Ring-A-Bottle. Complete with booth attendants dressed in Red Sox shirts for a home run of a good time!

Presidents’ Farewell Dinner
Museum of Fine Arts

Join your friends, colleagues and the presidents of AAPD and Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children, the Foundation of the AAPD, for a memorable evening with amazing cuisine, phenomenal art and a great dancing band! Come celebrate your specialty at this newly designed event to allow guests to spend more time in the museum while also celebrating the specialty and its achievements.

Entering the museum’s Rotunda, natural light illuminates the specially commissioned works of John Singer Sargent that grace the ceiling and vaulted aches. While most revered for his portraitures, Sargent’s first inspirations came from his travels as a child and the landscapes he saw.

As guests make their way from the grandeur of the Classical Rotunda to the Ultra Modern glass and steel Courtyard, the visual experience shifts to one of contemporary High Drama. Ultra violet light washes the white surfaces of the Courtyard and creates a stunning counterpoint to the sun-bright yellow Chihuly "tree" that towers to one side.
