Latest Annual Session News
Welcome to Boston!
It’s a pleasure to invite you, your office staff and family to the 2014 Annual Session of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) in Boston! All of the planning efforts have paid off and we’re in a great position to have one of the best meetings ever. The Scientific Program takes place at the Hynes Convention Center located in the heart of Back Bay; all the hotels are conveniently connected through the Copley Mall and are close to tons of restaurants and shopping. The Welcome Reception takes place at Fenway Park on a new night: Friday. The AAPD has exclusive access to America’s Favorite Ballpark and home of the 2013 World Series Champions! Spend the night with Boston and New England’s favorite mascots: Wally the Green Monster, Pat Patriot, Blades the Bruin, Larry the Lobster and Lucky the Leprechaun. Enjoy some time in the Little League Area designed for kids but also the kid at heart. The right field rooftop includes a magnificent view of the field as well as the Boston skyline with an interactive Karaoke DJ that will keep the vibe upbeat with guests belting out songs new and old. There is much more fun planned for that evening!
The scientific program promises to deliver the cutting-edge topics you've come to expect at the Annual Session. The Preconference Course on Thursday is an update from the successful course, Pediatric Medicine Update. The opening keynote is A Conversation with Henry Winkler. Does the Fonz need more introduction than that? Henry Winkler is an accomplished actor, writer, producer and director.

Keynote Speaker Announced: A Conversation With Henry Winkler
Friday, May 23
7:30 – 9 a.m.
Get to know the man inside the leather motorcycle jacket; Henry Winkler discusses his personal life, his career and how he has overcome obstacles.
Winkler’s portrayal of "The Fonz" for 10 seasons on "Happy Days" (1974-84) made him one of the most recognized actors in the world. He won two consecutive Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy Series (1976 and 1977), and three Emmy nominations in the same category. He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the leather jacket the character wore has hung in The Smithsonian since 1980. "Fonzie’s" lunch box was recently added to the exhibit.
