AAPD and ADA Urge Congress to Reauthorize CHIP

On September 13, 2017, the AAPD and ADA wrote the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee in support of reauthorization of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The current CHIP authorization expires on Sept. 30, 2017. The AAPD/ADA letter described the importance of maintaining required dental coverage for the nine million children in CHIP, and acknowledged the tentative agreement of the Senate Finance Committee to move forward with a CHIP reauthorization bill. The Finance Committee introduced its bill the following week.
